IT Infrastructure Project Manager

About The Role:

The Infrastructure Project Manager will manage the delivery of projects from project initiation through the

transition to operations on time and within budget. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination,

control and completion of assigned projects, the Infrastructure Project Manager will also participate in the

continued development and implementation of the GIO Americas PMO process, tools and reports.

Main assignments:  

- Direct project delivery through active leadership and involvement to ensure projects meet time,

cost and quality requirements.

- Maintain hands-on role to ensure deadlines are met and key deliverables are completed on-time.

- Track and manage project progress in terms of scope, timeline and budget.

- Identify and anticipate risks and issues - facilitate resolution, mitigation, and appropriate

escalation to senior management - including the active maintenance of risk and issue logs

- Serve as the interface between project teams and customers to ensure collaboration and

coordination between all stakeholders.

- Lead project governance and reporting, in line with governance standards.

- Monitor and communicate status and progress to stakeholders through status reports, updated

project plans, financial reports and portfolio management tools. Communicate and incorporate

feedback from customers.

- Identify and manage scope changes through change request documentation and approval

management

- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for each project, ensuring appropriate

storage

- Manage suppliers supporting project delivery.

- Provide direction and support to the project team.

- Ensure that project delivery complies with regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other relevant area

(or equivalent experience)

- PMP, Prince2, and/or SCRUM Certification

- 7 years experience in IT

- 5+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager

- Fluency in English is mandatory - French, Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.

- Experience in a multicultural environment is an asset.

- Knowledge and know-how specific to the position

- Previous experience managing projects involving integrations, infrastructure or complex technical

landscapes

- Strong knowledge of customers (business, culture, needs).

- Good knowledge of ITIL.

- Familiar with the latest technologies, trends, standards, products, and applicability .

- Ability to build commercial proposals and associated SLAs.

- Technical background, good grasp of IT Infrastructure solutions (Networking, Data/Cloud,

Computing, etc, …).

- Ability to challenge the efficiency of a technical solution.

- Demonstrated experience in hands-on project management skills, methods and techniques

(planning, scheduling, financial modeling, reporting, project control procedures, etc.).

- Advanced proficiency in GSuite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) as well as Microsoft Excel.

- Experience with ITSM, preferably ServiceNow.

Demand Assessment:

- Support the demand management decision process through the creation of project charters and

gate documents.

- Conduct feasibility studies with Solution Architects within the different Services Lines.

- Facilitate the assessment of the project impact in terms of cost, capacity, contingency,

infrastructure and evaluate the level of risk, needed budgets and the resulting IT Value (ROI, IRR).

Work Planning:

- Define the structure, scope, and direction of efforts around work plans, schedules, cost estimates,

resourcing required to successfully deliver the project.

- Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the project

- Design and lead project governance and reporting, in line with governance standards.

- Support the development of project business cases and steward the proposed project through

governance for sign-off to proceed.

- Manage vendor selection and the negotiation process;

- Approve vendor deliverables and payments.
